Agency’s Work for Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital
Earns Top Honors at American Advertising Federation Awards – Baton Rouge
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (March 27, 2009) – A Little Rock agency’s multimedia campaign for Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital has won multiple awards at the Baton Rouge ADDY® Awards ceremony, including Best of Show honors in the TV category.
Mangan Holcomb Partners, the Little Rock-based marketing, advertising and public relations agency for Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, earned 13 awards, in addition to Best of Show honors, for the children’s hospital campaign from the American Advertising Federation – Baton Rouge.
The campaign for Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, titled “Make Believe,” received seven Gold ADDY awards. “Make Believe,” which features real-life pediatric patients, not actors, juxtaposes the children’s real-life roles – cancer patient, lung condition, heart patient – against the make-believe alter egos – firefighter, superhero, princess – they assume. The “Make Believe” campaign also won six silver awards. The multimedia campaign, launched December 2008, includes a 30-second TV spot and three 15-second spots, complementary print and outdoor ads, and a microsite.
Mangan Holcomb’s work for Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital received the following ADDY awards:
Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, located inside Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, is the second-largest pediatric facility in Louisiana, serving children statewide and beyond. The “Make Believe” campaign was designed to raise awareness of this “hospital within a hospital” among Baton Rouge families.
The “Make Believe” campaign is an offshoot of the “We Believe” branding campaign Mangan Holcomb developed for Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. The agency relied on specialized research methodologies to inform the initial “We Believe” campaign, capturing the essence of Our Lady of the Lake’s culture and mission from the voices of those within it, which shaped the development of the branding campaign. Together, the two campaigns illustrate the unifying belief system of all Our Lady of the Lake employees that sets the medical center and its children’s hospital apart from other healthcare facilities in the market.
The “We Believe” campaign also earned one Gold ADDY and five Silver ADDYs. The “We Believe” campaign relies on that single, powerful phrase to establish Our Lady of the Lake’s identity as a faith-based organization whose employees “believe” in the hospital’s mission of healing. “We Believe” garnered the following ADDY awards:
“The best communication is the result of research and understanding,” said Mangan Holcomb Partners principal and Creative Director C.C. “Chip” Culpepper. “When you apply analysis and experience to research, it becomes understanding. Insightful research reveals the essence of an organization and arms you with the emotion to truly touch people. Hopefully, that’s what these campaigns will continue to do – reach out emotionally and intellectually to the community of Baton Rouge.”
