Mangan Holcomb Partners Affirms Position as Regional Healthcare Marketing Expert
Agency’s Work for Healthcare Clients Receives Accolades In National, Regional and Local Competitions

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (August 24, 2009) – Only halfway through 2009, an Arkansas agency has been honored with 57 awards in national, state and local healthcare marketing competitions. The awards span six agency healthcare clients in three Midsouth states.

Mangan Holcomb Partners, a Little Rock-based full-service marketing, advertising and public relations agency, represents healthcare providers across the region, including Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, La., St. Vincent Health System in Little Rock, Ark., Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn., Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ark., and Sparks Health System in Fort Smith, Ark.

Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital leads the way with 24 awards for its multimedia “Make Believe” campaign, which features real-life pediatric patients, not actors. On a national level, “Make Believe” received three awards in the 26th Annual Healthcare Marketing Advertising Awards Competition and four Aster awards, including a Gold Aster for Children’s Service Line Marketing. The children’s hospital campaign also earned seven Gold ADDY® awards and six Silver ADDY®s, in addition to Best of Show honors, from the American Advertising Federation (AAF) – Baton Rouge. At the American Advertising Federation – District 7 competition, which comprises Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Southeast Louisiana entries, “Make Believe” received four ADDY awards, including two Gold ADDYs in cinematography.

Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, which houses the children’s hospital, also won 13 awards for its “We Believe” branding campaign, which establishes the medical center’s identity as a faith-based organization whose employees “believe” in the mission of healing. The campaign earned one award from the Healthcare Marketing Advertising Awards Competition, two Aster awards and three accolades from the 30th Annual Telly Awards, including a Silver Telly, the competition’s highest honor, in the Business to Consumer Campaign category. The AAF Baton Rouge honored “We Believe” with eight ADDY awards, including two Gold ADDY awards for TV Video Editing and Directing.

Mangan Holcomb client St. Vincent Health System has also garnered national awards for the “What It’s Like” campaign, which is focused on removing the fear associated with hospitalization, and replacing that fear with the reassurance that the patient experience at St. Vincent embodies understanding, respect and a commitment to clinical excellence. St. Vincent received two Aster awards, including one Gold Aster for its three-part billboard series promoting the opening of renovated emergency facilities. “What It’s Like” also earned an award in the TV Advertising Series category of the Healthcare Marketing Advertising Awards Competition. St. Vincent has also been recognized with two Diamond Awards from the Arkansas Hospital Association and the Arkansas Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations. St. Vincent’s three-part ER billboard series was recognized with a Diamond Award in the Special Visuals category. In addition, the “Generations of Generosity” Campaign Casebook was honored in the Special Purpose Publication class. The casebook is a component of the St. Vincent Foundation’s capital campaign that inspires the community to continue the legacy of generosity. St. Vincent also received two Certificates of Excellence and one Judges’ Merit award for the “What It’s Like” campaign in the statewide competition.

Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis won recognition as best of show in the Tennessee Society of Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations Prism Awards for a transit wrap featuring the new “We’re Building For” campaign design. The campaign is centered around the construction of the new Le Bonheur Children’s facility and features enormous building-sized banners and print ads. Pediatric cardiologist Dr. Rush Waller offered his personal SUV to be wrapped and dubbed it the “Le Bonheur Utility Vehicle” or L.U.V. “We’re Building For” also earned a Silver Aster Award for Magazine Advertising Series and two National Healthcare Advertising Awards for the car wrap and banners.

The “Remarkable” campaign at Baxter Regional Medical Center has proven to be another winner for Mangan Holcomb Partners. The goal of the campaign is to correct the misconception that quality healthcare can not exist in a rural setting. In fact, the healthcare at Baxter is “Remarkable” and comparable to the big city offerings. The print and radio ads garnered a Gold ADDY in the Newspaper Advertising Series category and a Silver Addy for the radio series. “Remarkable” was also honored with three National Healthcare Advertising Awards, including a Silver award for the radio series.

Mangan Holcomb’s campaign for Sparks Health System has also earned accolades at the national level. “New Walls” was designed to support the opening of the expanded healthcare facility and reconnect Sparks with the community. The campaign highlights Sparks’ combination of compassionate, talented people supported by the best facilities and technology. “New Walls” received a Gold Aster Award in the TV/Video Advertising Series category and two National Healthcare Advertising Awards.
